The WV Peer Training Hub:
Supporting and developing the peer workforce in West Virginia
The Peer Recovery Training Hub, called the HUB, aims to support and expand the peer workforce in West Virginia by providing access to high-quality training and resources at either no cost or low cost to participants. The HUB also provides technical assistance to peers pursuing certification. The HUB is made possible by a partnership between the West Virginia Department of Human Services, Bureau for Behavioral Health (BBH), the Marshall University’s Center of Excellence for Recovery, the West Virginia Collegiate Recovery Network, and the Office of Drug Control Policy.
Peer recovery support services play a vital in helping individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) achieve and maintain recovery. Peers, those in recovery from SUD, empower and advocate, provide valuable experience and resources, and extend support and outreach in a variety of settings.
