Dr. Kari Mika-Lude oversees The Training Center (TTC) at Marshall University.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Adler University in Chicago, and her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Northern Illinois University.  She has over 10 years of experience as a professional counselor, much of which was spent in community mental health.  She is independently licensed in both West Virginia (LPC) and Illinois (LCPC) and holds addiction counseling credentials in both states.  Her primary clinical specialization is trauma, with a focus on first responders, and she is trained in EMDR.  In 2018, she founded and now oversees a private group practice, where she provides clinical supervision and consultation services.  She has provided consultation on trauma-sensitive screening procedures for the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration.  She and her husband, who is a firefighter/EMT, have provided trainings on first responder wellness, PTSD recovery, suicide prevention, and trauma-informed workplaces for police, fire, EMS, and 911/dispatch.  Dr. Mika-Lude has also developed and delivered trainings on a variety of topics for both professionals and community members, including psychological disaster preparedness, sexual violence and addiction, intimate partner violence, gatekeeping in counselor education, and more.  She serves on the Cabell County Critical Incident Stress Management team and on the Executive Board of the West Virginia Licensed Professional Counselors Association, and she is the current President-Elect of the West Virginia Counseling Association (2023-24).

Holly Glick Sly, MA
Wraparound and Mobile Response

Holly earned her Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Communication Arts with an Emphasis in Theatre from Concord University in 2009 and her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from West Virginia University in 2014. She is currently a licensed psychologist in West Virginia. Holly is a certified therapist in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is a certified therapist and within program trainer for Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Holly has supervised multiple Wraparound programs as well as one of the pilot grants for Children’s Mobile Crisis. She looks forward to continuing to help West Virginia provide quality service for its children, young adults, and their families. She currently resides in Raleigh County with her family.

Carrie Cunningham, PRSS
Peer Recovery Training Hub Coordinator

Carrie Cunningham is the current Project Coordinator for the WV Peer Recovery Training Hub under the Marshall University Center of Excellence. Ms. Cunningham is a certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) and has 5 years of experience providing recovery support services to individuals with substance use disorders in a variety of community settings.  She served as the lead PRSS at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC), where she worked with patients to connect them to community resources and navigate needed services. She also worked at Recovery Point, where she helped patients with substance use disorders access needed resources and break down barriers to treatment.  Ms. Cunningham has excellent relationships with community partners; she is a strong advocate and is passionate about the work she provides to individuals with substance use disorders in West Virginia.
